Ukrainian Agriculture in Wartime: Resilience, Reforms, and Markets

The russian invasion brought enormous destruction and challenges to Ukrainian agriculture. Among other things, the war demonstrated the extreme vulnerability of the pre-war model of agriculture development, which is based on economies of scale, the commodity nature of agricultural exports and the distorted structure of agricultural production. Unfortunately, the war did not stop but only intensified the struggle for resources and state support between large business and family farms. In this context, the report, prepared by a group of Ukrainian and European scholars, presents the dynamics and trends of the Ukrainian agriculture before the war, and provides some results of the impact of hostilities on its functioning and the possibilities for further development in the post-war period.
